Summary

Join SingleStore as a Principal Value Engineer and leverage your passion for real-time data to help customers overcome their most challenging data obstacles. You will collaborate with sales and solutions engineering teams, providing value-based demonstrations and proof-of-concepts to showcase SingleStore's capabilities to Fortune 500 companies. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. You will work directly with clients to understand their needs, provide feedback to product teams, and stay current on database technologies. Requirements

  • Masters in related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc), or
  • 7+ years experience in a technical pre-sales role
  • Alternatively an advanced degree (e.g.: MBA)
  • Or 7+ years experience in value engineering or management consulting roles
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Experience negotiating complex deals from a value-based selling perspective
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to C-Suite
  • Broad range of experience within large-scale distributed database and/or data warehousing technologies
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ANSI SQL query languages and in analytics tools like Excel and Python used by FP&A teams
  • Understanding of private and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware and hybrid architectures

Responsibilities

  • Engage with both current and prospective clients to understand their technical and business challenges
  • Present and demonstrate SingleStore product offering to fortune 50 companies
  • Enthusiastic about the data analytics and data engineering landscape
  • Provide valuable feedback to product teams based on client interactions
  • Stay up to date with database technologies and the SingleStore product offerings
  • Create and validate TCO calculations and ROI models to show positive business outcomes
