Summary
Escape Velocity is seeking a creative Lead Weapons Artist to design weapons, create models, texture them, and integrate them into their game. The artist should be fluent in using Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, and Unreal, have a strong portfolio showcasing various styles, and preferably have experience with laying out joints and testing mechanics of weapons.
Requirements
- The ability to interpret and improve concept ideas
- An understanding of modern pipelines and requirements for creating weapons and props
- Experience with Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Unreal
Responsibilities
- Design beautiful and entertaining weapons and props for character abilities
- Sculpt visually stunning assets in Zbrush (hard surface as well Organic)
- Create high-poly and low-poly models of weapons, props and equipment for games on given concepts and requirements
- Create excellent texturing/material work
- Integrate weapons into the game
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to create/design weapons is a high plus
- Experience with laying out joints and testing mechanics of weapons would be a big plus
