Lead Web UI Developer

Summary

The Lead Web UI Developer will work on complex and challenging projects in the Financial Services sector, driving transformative change for top-tier clients. The role requires 10+ years of commercial-grade web/front-end development experience, strong skills in modern JavaScript, REST and GraphQL APIs, Agile methodologies, and team leadership. Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial-grade web/front-end development experience
• Strong experience in modern JavaScript, ideally TypeScript, building web applications with modern frameworks such as React, Angular and/or Vue
• Solid skills interacting with multiple types of API formats, preferably REST and GraphQL, but additional skills with Websockets, SSE, RPC would be desired
• Contribute to the design process from gathering requirements, planning and ideating from the start of a project
• Demonstrate an understanding of user behavior and how to tailor web experiences to meet the needs of users
• Work with designers and other partners to collaborate on design & wireframing and take responsibility for delivering high-quality implementations
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Demonstrable team leadership experience
• Knowledge of, and strong demonstrated interest in, global financial markets and financial products is a strong plus
• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related work experience

Responsibilities

• Build applications that push the envelope when it comes to throughput, latency, resiliency, all the while making sure that we deliver on-time and within budget
• Develop and communicate a clear technical vision and strategy for building web experiences within the organization
• Lead the development of the engineering teams skillsets and growth
• Maintain hands-on involvement in software development, setting best practices, and ensuring high standards of quality
• Craft robust, scalable, and flexible UI application architectures that support the needs of the business while accommodating future growth and technologies
• Identify and evaluate new technologies, tools, and practices that can enhance the organization's data capabilities. Lead the adoption of cutting-edge UI technologies
• Work closely with product owners, data specialists, and cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs
• Influence decision-making at the highest levels of the company with your technical expertise and vision
• Ensure data systems are optimized for performance and scalability. Conduct code reviews, system simulations, and performance testing to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
