Summary

iHerb is seeking a Lead UX Developer to build and implement the design system and component library. This role requires 9+ years of professional experience in frontend development, proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, modern frontend frameworks, web standards, Figma Dev mode, accessibility features, ARIA roles and attributes, communication skills, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of professional experience in frontend development
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular, etc.)
  • Proficient in web standards to ensure cross-browser compatibility of responsive web designs
  • Familiarity with Figma Dev mode and relevant features
  • Architecting and promoting a library of reusable components
  • Implementing accessibility features following WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) to ensure compliance with accessibility standards
  • Conducting regular accessibility audits using tools like Axe and WAVE, addressing issues related to screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, and color contrast
  • Collaborating closely with designers to integrate accessibility considerations into the design process from the initial wireframes to the final product
  • Utilized ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) roles and attributes, to enhance the accessibility of complex UI components such as accordions, modals, and sliders
  • Educating team members on best practices for accessible design and development, leading workshops and conducting code reviews to promote awareness and adoption of accessibility principles
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Passion for creating exceptional user experiences and a dedication to pushing the boundaries of design and technology from scoping to implementation and experimental A/B testing
  • Driving adoption of industry standards for building user interfaces, including accessibility, internationalization, performance optimization, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility
