Legal & Compliance Intern

Summary

Join Xapo Bank's Legal and Compliance team as an intern for a 2-month, fully remote internship based in Gibraltar with occasional in-office work. Assist with legal research, compliance documentation, and regulatory projects. The ideal candidate is a student studying law, business, or a related field, possessing strong analytical and communication skills. This role offers hands-on experience in the fintech industry, applying academic knowledge to practical challenges. The internship requires a dedicated workspace, reliable internet, and alignment with Xapo's values. Selected candidates will work directly with the Legal and Compliance team, contributing to real-world projects and tasks.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration and clear reporting
• Detail-oriented with the ability to approach tasks methodically and ensure accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and grow in the legal and compliance field
• Ability to work well within a team, with excellent collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting legal research and analyzing regulations affecting the company’s operations
• Support the team with preparing and reviewing compliance documentation and contracts
• Help ensure that the company adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, including data privacy and financial regulations
• Assist with monitoring internal policies and practices to ensure compliance with legal standards
• Contribute to cross-department projects and collaborate with different teams to support legal and compliance goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Some exposure to legal research, contract management, or compliance processes through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships is beneficial
• A basic understanding of financial regulations, data protection laws (such as GDPR), and compliance frameworks is advantageous
• Any exposure to corporate governance or risk management frameworks is a plus
