Summary
Join ZeptoLab as a Freelance Level Designer to enhance Bullet Echo's core gameplay. Design new maps from concept to completion, improve existing levels, and play the game regularly to understand mechanics and player behavior. Use analytics and player feedback to enhance gameplay, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Engage with the community to identify pain points and gather suggestions. This role requires at least two years of experience in level/core gameplay design for mobile PvP or PvE games and a strong understanding of level design principles for top-down action/shooter games.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as a Level/Core Gameplay Designer in mobile PvP or PvE games
- Strong understanding of level design principles, particularly for top-down action/shooter games
- Ability to balance maps for a variety of playstyles, weapons, and characters
- Proficiency with level design tools
- Basic data analysis skills, including the ability to formulate and test hypotheses using game metrics
- Strong communication skills, initiative, the ability to advocate for design decisions, and a collaborative, open-minded approach to feedback
Responsibilities
- Design new Bullet Echo maps from concept to final version
- Improve existing levels by identifying areas of improvement and optimizing them to align with current game dynamics
- Play Bullet Echo regularly to fully understand game mechanics, objectives, and player behavior in combat
- Use in-game analytics, behavioral data, and player feedback to develop and propose ideas that enhance core gameplay
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary development team (game designers, analysts, artists, programmers, etc.) at all stages of the process, from concept to release
- Engage with the gaming community: analyze player feedback, identify pain points, and gather suggestions to improve maps and gameplay
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in live operations of a mobile game
- Experience with UX testing, playtesting sessions, or analyzing player session videos
- A portfolio showcasing completed maps (including videos, screenshots, and design explanations)
