Summary

Join Oscar's Legal team as a Litigation Attorney, responsible for counseling national and regional business teams on statutory/regulatory obligations and providing expertise to further Oscar’s success. You will have litigation and regulatory experience and subject matter expertise with state and federal surprise billing arbitration processes.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
• Law license in good standing
• 6+ years of relevant experience at a top tier law firm, in-house counsel, insurance regulatory agency and/or legislative committee
• Familiarity with the No Surprises Act and state-based surprise billing arbitration statutes and regulations
• Strategic thinker with experience evaluating and determining legal course of action to meet our needs

Responsibilities

• Analyze and distill complex legal issues into easily understandable content so Oscar can move corporate goals forward
• Be the national subject matter expert for one or more legal areas important to the business enterprise including interpretation of federal and state IDR requirements
• Provide written and oral legal advocacy on behalf of Oscar’s interests in federal and state IDR matters
• Provide subject matter expertise to further the development and continuous improvement of company and legal team processes
• Manage defensive arbitration and litigation involving us and protect our rights in contract negotiations, disputes, settlements and litigation
• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned
