Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with a strong focus on machine learning or a related discipline
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in machine learning or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role overseeing technical teams
• Proven track record of successfully leading machine learning projects from conception to deployment, demonstrating strong project management, technical expertise, and strategic vision
• Deep understanding of the machine learning development lifecycle, including best practices in MLOps, data engineering, and model deployment and monitoring
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a team towards achieving technical excellence and innovation
• Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders, fostering an environment of open dialogue and collaboration
• Strategic thinker who can align machine learning initiatives with broader business goals and adapt to changing market and technology landscapes
• Commitment to continuous professional development, both for self and team, staying abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in machine learning
• Proficiency in advanced ML tools and programming languages used in data science (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
• Proficiency in ML cloud services and Saas tools like MLFlow and AWS ecosystem
• Proven experience in marketing, e-commerce marketplace, or growth teams

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Machine Learning Engineering team, setting clear goals, expectations, and providing guidance and support to ensure project success and professional growth of team members
• Develop and implement strategic plans for the machine learning department, aligning technical projects with business goals and ensuring integration with the broader company strategy
• Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of machine learning models and systems, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, performance, and reliability
• Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging the team to stay abreast of the latest machine learning technologies, methodologies, and best practices
• Ensure effective project management practices are in place, including task prioritization, resource allocation, and timelines, to facilitate continuous integration and incremental delivery of machine learning projects
• Promote a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization, enhancing the collective expertise and efficiency in machine learning endeavors
• Actively contribute to business strategy discussions, providing insights and recommendations based on technical expertise and industry trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage
• Mentor and develop team members, identifying opportunities for growth and providing feedback and support to foster career advancement and skill enhancement
