Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience
  • 8 years of work experience in a strategic, analytical, or consulting role in healthcare; preferably in health plan or PBM setting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience managing challenging conversations and presenting to senior audiences (such as executive level staff)
  • Experience with applying project management to operational areas in pharmacy benefit management. (i.e. project timelines, KPI’s/metric tracking, visualization of results)
  • Experience ideating, developing, driving and taking ownerhsip of strategic initiatives
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as but not limited to Excel, PowerBI, or other similar tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Abarca client data to inform rebate negotiation strategy and to identify client savings opportunities
  • Deliver, with assistance from trade analyst, financial analyses of manufacturer rebate proposals and operations including sensitivity analyses, competitive offer assessments, performance tracking and scenario building
  • Complete cost modeling and analysis to determine optimal coverage strategies and to support rebate negotiation
  • Manage industry relations analyst(s) and guide their completion of rebate modeling
  • Serve as day-to-day relationship owner and contact person for pharmaceutical manufacturers
  • Negotiate and implement rebate agreements
  • Triage any pharmaceutical manufacturer inquiries and ensure we provide responses in a timely manner
  • Work with legal to revise and execute pharmaceutical manufacturer contracts
  • Serve as rebate contract SME within Abarca, and provide support during regulatory change management process around regulatory changes impacting rebates
  • Lead the completion of annual rebate RFP and client formulary reviews, which includes financial analysis, opportunity identification, net cost modeling, and responding to inquiries
  • Research, compile, and analyze rebate and trending data for internal stakeholders including finance, client account teams, and underwriting
  • Manage and collaborate on high prioritie needs as necessary
