Summary

Join Clearway Energy Group as a External Affairs Manager to lead the company's external affairs engagement in Eastern states, developing and implementing a strategy for legislative policy and regulatory advocacy to support project development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working on energy policy, legislation and/or regulation at the state and regional levels
• Entrepreneurial and creative thinking, ideally demonstrated by developing new legislation, a business plan, or otherwise taking an idea from concept to implementation
• Clear communication in both speaking and writing
• Ability to effectively tailor communications to an audience
• Collaborative spirit and ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences, virtually and in person
• Eager to learn, comfortable asking questions to ensure understanding
• Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%)
• A bachelor’s degree in energy, economics, law, policy, political science or similar

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategy for legislative policy and regulatory advocacy to support the development of Clearway’s projects in the Eastern U.S. states
• Build relationships with policymakers and key stakeholders across the region, including state and local elected officials
• Hire and manage local lobbyists and consultants as needed to support Clearway’s priorities
• Represent Clearway in industry associations and coalitions collaborating on legislative, regulatory, and political work
• Advise on community engagement plans for projects in development and operation
• Keep business development, project development, asset management, and other business leads up to date on legislative and regulatory dynamics affecting their projects
