Join The ALS Association as a Development Manager and play a pivotal role in executing the fundraising strategy for signature events and peer-to-peer initiatives. This remote position, based in Nashville, TN, requires a self-starter with strong relationship-building skills to manage fundraising events, recruit and retain volunteers, and meet ambitious income goals. You will manage event logistics, collaborate with internal teams, and represent the Association at community events. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in fundraising, event management, volunteer development, donor cultivation and relations, and corporate sponsor cultivation
- Skilled at managing participants in an online fundraising platform; ability to run reports and analyze data to build strategic outreach plans
- Strong organizational skills
- Must exercise good judgment in prioritizing the scheduling of events; must know when to seek input from supervisor
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on relationship-building and mission alignment
- Able to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in working with sensitive, confidential records and information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Ability to quickly train and use a donor database (such as Salesforce and Luminate Online)
- Willingness and ability to travel within the territory and work evening/weekend hours as needed
Responsibilities
- Implement a comprehensive plan to meet an income portfolio goal of $325,000+ that includes a variety of fundraising events, including our signature event, Walk to Defeat ALS, a Golf Tournament, and Community Partner Events
- Responsible for the recruitment, stewardship, and retention of volunteer leaders, event participants, and donors, including team captains, event committee chairs and members
- Manage logistical details for all events in region including budget management, site planning, permitting, and vendor coordination
- Partner with internal teams, including Marketing, Care Services and Advancement, to ensure integrated campaigns
- Execute face to face meetings, phone and email contact with event sponsors, donors, vendors, and volunteer committees
- Represent the ALS Association at community events, cultivating awareness and support for the mission
- Coordinate printing and distribution of event promotional materials
- Work as integral part of Territory team and support Director, Development, Managing Director, Development and team members as needed
- Contribute to national campaign alignment, process improvement, and cross-team collaboration
- Attend Territory events and meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of mission and fundraising goals
