Summary

Join AbbVie's Global Epidemiology Department in Pharmacovigilance & Patient Safety as a key contributor to pharmacoepidemiologic studies. You will design and execute studies, support disease characterization, contribute to regulatory submissions, and conduct literature reviews. This role involves applying advanced epidemiology research techniques to drug safety questions and communicating findings effectively. The position offers remote work options within the United States. A PhD/MD/PharmD, or MPH/MS with relevant experience is required. Industry experience is preferred.

Requirements

  • PhD/MD/PharmD, or MPH/MS with 3-5 years of experience in the field of epidemiology, outcomes research, or a related discipline
  • Excellent understanding of epidemiologic data sources and methods and a demonstrated ability to apply them to address program and business needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, synthesize, and communicate epidemiology literature in both written and presentation formats
  • Lead or contribute to the development of new evidence through study design, protocol development, and statistical analysis plans of various databases, including secondary data sources, such as administrative claims or health records data
  • Work with general to advanced epidemiology research techniques to apply appropriate research methods to answer questions relating to drug safety
  • Support departmental need to contribute to and develop content for sections of risk management plans, benefit risk assessments, safety, and regulatory deliverables
  • Knows and is able to represent the role of epidemiology in signal evaluation and where epidemiology contributes to key safety and regulatory deliverables
  • Communication of scientific concepts: Is able to communicate epidemiology concepts to diverse audiences, verbally and in writing
