Summary
Join GOAT Group's Finance team and partner with business leaders to create financial reviews, support financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. Identify risks and opportunities, providing financial insights for strategic decision-making. Serve as a business partner to executives, guiding strategic decisions. Perform and review month-end variance analyses, collaborating with various teams. Manage budgets for key functional teams and evolve financial reports to meet business needs. Support investor relations, quarterly board presentations, and corporate development projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or strategic finance at a high growth startup or well established company
- Familiarity in Technology, E-commerce, and/or Marketplace business models, including omnichannel sales models (web, mobile, and retail)
- Resilience and flexibility to the demands of working in a fast-growing startup, including the need to adapt, build, and learn new aspects of the business as necessary
- Proven understanding of accounting and accounting operations/processes
- Ability to work collaboratively to drive cross-functional execution on business goals
- Elevated pride of ownership in work product
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with a formidable attention to detail
- Healthy curiosity to understand all aspects of the business
Responsibilities
- Partner with the team and business leaders to create our financial reviews to present to executives monthly
- Support and drive the companyโs financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting process
- Identify risks and opportunities and work with the business to provide financial insights to assist with decision making on strategic initiatives
- You will be a business partner to execs and senior management across our various brands and help guide and recommend strategic decisions that will help us achieve our goals
- Perform and review month-end variance analyses, working collaboratively with accounting, data, and business leaders to understand prime factors driving variance
- Manage budgets for key functional teams by partnering with business leaders and ensuring sound financial decisions are made
- Continue to develop and evolve our financial reports to accurately mirror the businessโ evolution and needs
- Support with investor relations and quarterly board presentations
- Support with corporate development projects such as M&A or minority investments
- Other ad-hoc strategic analyses and work across the business, as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to NetSuite and/or other accounting systems a plus
- Mastery in Excel and PowerPoint
- SQL exposure (or a willingness to learn) a plus
