Manager, National Vista Program

Summary

Join Hunger Free America's National AmeriCorps VISTA Program as a Manager, National VISTA Program for a temporary contract position running from January 27th, 2025 to May 31st, 2025, with a possibility of extension. This remote position reports to the Director and involves managing program operations, data, and communications. You will support the Director with reporting, evaluation, and strategic planning, oversee the host site application process, and assist with VISTA recruitment and placement. The role also includes onboarding new cohorts, supporting the VISTA Alumni Program, and performing other assigned duties. The position requires at least two years of experience in volunteer management, program development, and/or working with AmeriCorps programs. A competitive hourly rate and benefits are offered.

Requirements

• At least 2 years experience in volunteer management, program development and management, and/or working with AmeriCorps programs required
• Knowledge of volunteer and/or staff recruitment strategies
• Strong operational skills, organized, and detail oriented
• Excellent partnership management and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a variety of audiences
• Ability to collaborate professionally and effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

• Will constantly operate a computer and occasionally other office technology such as a copy/printer machine

Responsibilities

• Assists with program operations, manages data and database systems, and periodic communications with supervisors
• Monitor VISTA timesheets and Monthly Activity Logs
• Support the Director with reporting needs, evaluation initiatives, track systems, strategic planning, and overall team management
• During the annual host site application process, oversee the review and approval process for VISTA Assignment Descriptions (VADs)
• Assist with the host site selection process, including application review, communication with sites, and training
• Assist with the VISTA recruitment process including, but not limited to, tracking applicants, communication with colleague organizations, culling the national database, assist with host site recruitment training, reviewing applications, matching applicants and host sites, work with host sites on implementing their recruitment plans, help with the Host Site Virtual Fair, coordinating and conducting Green Light calls and working with sites to ensure all slots are filled
• Coordinate placement process for VISTAs including but not limited to ensuring AmeriCorps applications are complete, checking references, assisting VISTAs with any onboarding issues, tracking and communicating progress to VISTA team and host sites, completing the Enrollment form for the VMO
• Support Director and VISTA Leaders with onboarding the new cohort. Coordinate email communications, support troubleshooting, and manage and track information of new members and sites
• Assist with the onboarding process of the VISTAs, including, but not limited to, coordinating and facilitating trainings, maintaining regular communication with applicants, and assisting with any onboarding issues that arise
• Assis with the VISTA Alumni Program, including the VISTA Mentorship program
• Carry out other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Previous AmeriCorps, VISTA, or Peace Corps service is a plus
