Summary
Join NBCUniversal's product and engineering teams as a Manager, Software Engineering, and provide state-of-the-art engineering and architectural support for the SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash (OTC) system. Manage and mentor internal and external engineering teams to deliver high-quality S/4HANA solutions. Collaborate with architects and engineering leads on development strategy, architecture, and governance. Work with the Product Team and other engineering teams to architect, design, and evaluate technical design options for custom OTC development. Provide technical work effort estimations and ensure on-schedule delivery. Mentor and train engineering team members, fostering a high-performing team. Drive innovation and exploration in the SAP Engineering space, specifically within the OTC domain. Collaborate on developing and maintaining short- and long-term SAP roadmaps.
Requirements
- Education degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus, or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
- 7+ years SAP ABAP engineering experience, including 2+ years as a Team Lead and/or people manager. Deep knowledge in various SAP modules, specifically within OTC (e.g., SD, FI-AR), and Integration development working on large-scale SAP S/4 transformations
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading large development teams (30+ members) engaged in SAP ABAP and Fiori build activities for OTC, including estimating, planning, managing execution, and reporting on technical build activities, issues, and risks
- Deep knowledge of ABAP build process from Functional Specification review stage, through coding, technical unit testing and code reviews to Functional Unit Testing and support of the product teams during SIT, UAT and Cutover
- Experience in an N+1 SAP landscape environment with parallel development tracks, including processes for merging changes
- Strong understanding of SAP OTC design and process flows, including Sales Orders, Deliveries, Billing, Credit Management, and Cash Application, and related configurations
- Knowledge of underlying SAP S4 HANA OTC views, table structures, and fields
- Awareness of common APIs, BAPIs, and Function Modules in the OTC area related to sales order processing, delivery creation, billing document creation, and payment processing
- Experience in transformation projects, e.g., from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA (S/4 Conversions, green field, brown field, blue field, etc.), with a focus on OTC
- ECC Development Experience Proven ability in traditional ECC development practices and techniques using BADIs, BAPIs, LSMW, ALE, RFC calls, IDOC, BDC, business objects, classes and methods, Adobe Forms, SmartForms, SAPScripts, Data Dictionary, ALV
- Strong ABAP debugging skills, performance monitoring and tracing, and workflow experience
- S/4 HANA Development Experience Knowledge and awareness of SAP Clean Core principles including use of released API's, in app extensibility options and key user extensibility
- Knowledge of the 3-Tier extensibility model, RAP (Restful ABAP Programming), and CAP (Cloud Application Programming) models
- Experience migrating custom code base from ECC or Suite-on-HANA (SoH) systems onto an S/4 HANA platform, applying both technical remediation and Clean Core frameworks, with a focus on OTC-related customizations
- Knowledge of Native SQL, ADBC, External View, ABAP Core data Services, AMDP Procedures, Text Search, ALV on HANA
- Awareness of creating custom, and enhancing standard, CDS views and AMDP classes based on OTC business requirements
- Knowledge of OData services using CDS and AMDP, Workflow experience, including support and debugging
- Knowledge of other new SAP technologies such as Fiori SAPUI5 and SAP BTP Integration Suite
- Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employeeโs residence
Responsibilities
- Manage onsite and offshore employee and vendor resources engaged in S/4 HANA SAP Development (ABAP and Fiori) for the OTC area, taking accountability for their deliverables and quality adherence to NBCU engineering standards
- Collaborate with architects and engineering leads on SAP S/4 HANA engineering development strategy, architecture, and governance of application development and engineering activities for NBCU OTC processes
- Work with the Product (Functional) Team and other engineering teams to architect, design, and evaluate technical design options for custom OTC development, keeping in mind SAP's S/4 HANA clean core principles and NBCU best practices
- Provide technical work effort estimations for OTC-related projects and ensure high-quality and on-schedule delivery
- Design, develop, track, and report out on complex technical project plans in line with overall PMO published build and development timelines
- Take a lead role in maintaining and enforcing ABAP naming, coding, and development standards
- Provide architecture and design guidance to the development team, emphasizing SAP's Clean Core principles. Utilize tools such as ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit), CCM (Custom Code Management), and others
- Work closely with Product, Change Management, Testing, and other Engineering teams like BASIS and BTP Integration to identify opportunities for OTC process improvements, automations, and cost savings
- Mentor and train engineering team members, keeping in mind NBCUโs Operations and Technology goals, to foster a high performing engineering team
- Drive Innovation and Exploration in the SAP Engineering space at NBCU, specifically within the OTC domain
- Encourage and support experimentation with new SAP technologies and tools relevant to OTC. This includes dedicating team time for exploration, prototyping, organizing internal hackathons, and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Collaborate with architects and engineering leads to develop and maintain short, and long-term SAP roadmaps to include development, training, automation, and cybersecurity goals

- Ability to frequently assess and level development workloads, conduct staff meetings, obtain statuses, and generate executive-level presentations and reports
- Flexibility to support EST to PST hours as needed
- Relevant SAP technical certification
