Manual QA Engineer

Summary

The job is for a QA Engineer at BambooHR where the employee will collaborate with cross-functional teams to test new features, create test cases, triage issues, participate in post-mortem meetings, review designs, and mentor team members. The ideal candidate has 4-5+ years of manual testing experience, 3+ years using API testing tools like Postman, solid SQL knowledge, and agile methodology understanding.

Requirements

• 4-5+ years of experience in Manual QA (manual testing)
• 3+ years in utilizing API testing tools and frameworks, specifically Postman
• Solid knowledge and 3+ years experience with database querying using SQL (including creating complex queries)
• Experience developing test plans and writing test cases/testing notes
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies within a specified project/scrum team
• Ability to identify critical testing needs by identifying key interdependencies or risks
• Ability to identify potential risks and opportunities pertaining to product quality, with an ability to work with key stakeholders on developing meaningful solutions

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with QA, engineering, and product teams cross-functionally, testing new features, detecting bugs, and conducting regression testing
• Create test cases and testing notes, and execute them against various requirements including technical documents, wireframes, and mockups
• Triage, reproduce, verify, and document issues reported from customers
• Participate in post-mortem/retrospective meetings to gain insight on how to improve the testing approach and other needs
• Review designs with the team and identify potential defects before development work begins
• Advocate for customers and quality throughout the development process (We love our customers!)
• Mentor and train QA team members on skills, abilities, and tools
