Requirements
- Hold a MSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Have experience in developing medical devices, consumer electronic goods, or similar electronic products
- Possess a strong execution-focused mindset with a hands-on approach and the ability to adapt quickly as priorities shift
- Be able to work on-site 2-3 times a week in our Porto (PT) office
- Be fluent in English and have exceptional technical writing skills
- Have exceptional proficiency with CAD design of complex geometries / surfaces. Ideally CATIA V5/V6 or other similar CAD softwares
- Have 3-5 years of experience in the mechanical design of injection moulded products
- Be proficient in GD&T, statistical tolerance analysis and functional dimensioning
- Be experienced with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Have a good knowledge of 2D drawings and 3D engineering files as well as manufacturing documentation
- Have experience in different means of production and techniques (i.e. injection molding, overmolding, ultrasonic welding, etc.)
- Have a solid understanding of mechanics and materials science
- Be able to travel 2-4 times a year for work-related projects
- Possess a valid EU visa and be based in Portugal
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop new products and improvements to existing ones
- Be familiar with manufacturing & quality processes and systems, and able to contribute to DFX (manufacturing, assembly, cost, etc) activities
- Own mechanical modular sub-assembly design architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure design fits features definition
- Conduct testing and analysis of mechanical systems to ensure they meet design specifications and requirements
- Create and review mechanical design documentation, including CAD, drawings, schematics, and bill of materials
- Provide technical support to other teams, including manufacturing, quality, and customer service
- Stay up-to-date with the latest mechanical engineering trends and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Be familiar with PDM and PLM systems and best practices for design and component documentation and control
- Have experience in the design of LSR/ TPE components
- Have experience with Mold Flow Analysis and FEA Simulation
- Have experience with Rapid Prototyping
- Have designed for US, UK and EU compliance testing
