Requirements
- Certification as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience as a medical assistant, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
- 2 years of experience in telemedicine is required
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and motivate a remote team
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in using technology, including EHR systems, telemedicine platforms, and general office software
- Commitment to patient privacy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with agency and initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Experience or interest in leveraging AI to streamline administrative tasks, improve patient communication, and optimize clinical support processes
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the medical assistant team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence
- Perform medical assistant duties regularly, maintaining a strong connection to frontline tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline patient workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to established quality standards and protocols
- Manage functions such as pharmacy coordination, referrals, and follow-up tasks to support care continuity
- Assist patients with sourcing specialists, scheduling appointments, and accessing resources
- Act as a liaison between medical assistants, clinicians, and management
- Provide regular feedback and reporting on team performance and operational metrics
- Lead onboarding and training efforts for new team members, ensuring they are equipped to provide excellent care
Preferred Qualifications
- Remote supervisory experience is a plus
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus
