Summary

Join 20four7VA as a Medical Billing Virtual Assistant and become a crucial member of our medical billing department, ensuring accurate and timely billing processes. You will manage medical billing software (OfficeAlly preferred, but training provided for other systems like Athenahealth), process claims, communicate with patients, and maintain detailed records. This is a remote, full-time (40 hours/week) position with a PST schedule (9 AM-5 PM, Monday-Friday). Experience in medical billing is required, along with knowledge of medical coding and strong attention to detail. Preferred qualifications include experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with insurance billing processes. Requirements

  • Proven experience in medical billing or a related field
  • Familiarity with medical billing software, preferably OfficeAlly
  • Knowledge in systems such as Athenahealth or similar software is acceptable; training will be provided
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote work environment
  • Basic understanding of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize medical billing software (preferably OfficeAlly) to process claims and ensure accurate billing submissions
  • Navigate and manage patient accounts, codes, and billing information within the chosen system
  • Collaborate with the billing team to resolve any discrepancies or issues in billing processes
  • Review and verify accuracy of patient information, insurance details, and coding before submitting claims
  • Identify and rectify any coding errors or discrepancies to prevent claim denials
  • Monitor and follow up on the status of submitted claims to ensure timely reimbursement
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance matters in a professional and timely manner
  • Provide clarification on billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment options
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of billing transactions and communications
  • Generate reports as needed to analyze billing performance and identify areas for improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical billing role within a healthcare setting
