Medical Biller

Summary

Join our team as a Claims Specialist responsible for all aspects of electronic and hard copy claim submissions. You will download and upload claims daily, analyze for errors, and ensure accuracy. Collaboration with other departments is crucial for timely corrections. Researching utilization review claims and analyzing hold reports for timely claim release are key responsibilities. You will also process monthly renal dialysis billing and report trends to supervisors. Experience in acute care hospital billing and UB-04 experience is required. While on-site or hybrid work is preferred, 100% remote work is possible, though full-time conversion may be less likely for remote employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Have billed in an acute care hospital environment
• Have UB-04 experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure responsibility to download claims from HBOC and upload claims to Gaffey on a daily basis
• Analyze claims for errors and correct claims prior to submission
• Work closely with other departments to make corrections and ensure accuracy for the days work
• Research all utilization review claims for accuracy prior to billing on a timely basis
• Analyze accurately the hold report to release all possible claims
• Process the monthly renal dialysis billing within guidelines on a timely basis
• Report any trends and anomalies to Patient Accounts Supervisor and Patient Accounts Manager in a timely manner
• Work with all primary billing reports (including but not limited to: Late Charge report, 72 hour report, NEIC report, etc) to ensure claims are billed timely and accurately
• Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to changing departmental demands
