Medical Billing Specialist

Summary

Join FOLX Health's Revenue Cycle Management team as a Medical Billing Specialist! You will perform daily revenue cycle management activities, work with the Controller to improve insurance reimbursement processes, and play a crucial role in the company's financial stability. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and 2+ years of billing experience. Experience with Athena and relevant certifications (CPC or CPB) are preferred. The salary range is $60,000-$70,000. Requirements

• Have 2+ years of billing experience
• Possess excellent organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail
• Show a sense of urgency
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all charges submitted by providers, ensuring accurate coding and timely collections
• Triage and correct claim denials by working daily Athena worklists for claim and coding corrections
• Monitor and correct eligibility errors
• Track insurance payments and ensure payment posting is completed correctly and timely
• Invoice patients to collect self pay balances
• Post patient payments and reconcile patient accounts
• Research and resolve patient communications and balance issues
• Manage payer portal access and profiles
• Work with credentialing team to update Athena payer and provider enrollments
• Support Controller in process improvement and overall reporting activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience with Athena
• Have CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification
• Have CPB (Certified Professional Biller) certification
