Medical Billing Specialist

Requirements

• High attention to detail and hyper-organization
• Experience with medical coding and familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Experience maintaining the accuracy of patient's medical records and working knowledge of HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology
• Ability to navigate the MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel

Responsibilities

• Creating patient invoices and sending them to referring providers and attorneys
• Maintaining various files, logs, and medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
• Assembling patients' health information, including patient symptoms, medical history, exam results, reports, and billing
• Reviewing and ensuring all patient forms are completed, properly identified, signed, and uploaded in the preferred style
• Communicating as needed with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify and obtain information
• Submitting requested documentation to physicians or for use in legal actions while following patient consent and confidentiality protocols
