Join Scholar Rock as the Medical Communications and Training Lead, reporting to the Global Head of Scientific Communications and Medical Excellence. This key strategic partner role within the Medical Affairs team requires developing and executing medical communication strategies, creating and delivering medical affairs training, and managing congress-related activities. The ideal candidate possesses a strong scientific background, exceptional communication skills, and proven experience in medical communications, training, and congress support. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining medical communication materials, training curricula, and overseeing congress activities. The role demands collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring compliance with regulations. A minimum of 30% travel is required.
Requirements
- PharmD, MD, or PhD required
- 5-7+ years of experience in medical communications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into engaging material
- Demonstrated ability in overseeing external vendors and managing associated budgets
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize complex information, and problem solve
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical standards, compliance, and regulations
- Experience and knowledge of clinical trial reports, data presentation, and interpretation
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong ability to simultaneously handle multiple activities, prioritizing and pivoting as necessary
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other applications as warranted
- A minimum of 30% travel is required
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute on strategic medical communication plans that align with overarching program objectives and therapeutic area needs
- Tactics may include the development and maintenance of the scientific communication platform and medical narrative, field medical slide decks and materials, publication extenders, medical symposia content, and medical booth assets
- Ensure all medical communication content is regularly updated, accurate, and readily available for external use by identifying and leveraging the most appropriate communication channels
- Develop and maintain medical affairs training curricula and content specific to disease, product, and the therapeutic landscape to be used for onboarding and ad hoc training
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions, and update content as needed based on evolving priorities and insights
- Lead the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of medical congress-related activities including symposia and booth content
- Provide on-site support at congresses ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company SOPs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with relevant internal stakeholders including Medical Affairs and Clinical Development to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment on key medical communication objectives
- Serve as a subject matter expert to provide medical insights and guidance on medical content
