Medical Record Abstractor

Summary

Join WiredPeople as a Medical Record Abstractor and work remotely supporting a Tallahassee, Florida-based team. This full-time position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities. You will lead medical record abstraction, coordinate with other project sites, obtain patient records, abstract at least three records weekly, perform re-abstractions, document work, and present project data. The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree in nursing and four years of relevant experience. Strong computer skills and experience in patient or customer service are essential.

Requirements

• Have four years of experience
• Have a bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Possess computer skills, including data entry experience and the ability to navigate a variety of electronic medical record systems
• Have experience in patient services, customer service, or related field interacting directly with clients
• Be able to enter data in an accurate and timely manner and synthesize critical information into a succinct yet comprehensive narrative
• Be able to perform well with a team in a remote work environment
• Possess strong professional communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead medical record abstractor and participate in the planning, organizing, assigning, and reviewing the abstractions of the data collectors (DC)
• Serve as a direct contact for medical record abstraction to other project sites
• Obtain patient medical records from the facilities
• Abstract a minimum of three patient medical records weekly according to established procedures and protocols
• Perform medical record re-abstractions for staff as needed to ensure data quality
• Document all work in provided data system
• Present project data and assist with marketing the project with providers and other community stakeholders
