You will play a crucial role in building members' financial books from scratch, including catch-up bookkeeping, clean-up work, and establishing correct opening balances. You'll also assist in setting up payroll, handle historical adjustments, and manage transitions to new payroll software. Your responsibilities include publishing initial financial reports, reviewing books for errors, communicating with clients, and providing support to the team. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 2+ years of experience with Xero and Gusto, and strong communication and organizational skills. Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field
- Have 2+ years experience working with Xero and Gusto
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of computer software
- Be customer service-oriented, possess attention to detail, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Maintain a people-first attitude, willing to help members and teammates alike
Responsibilities
- Help Onboarding Accountants build the member’s financial books from scratch
- Perform catch-up bookkeeping
- Perform clean-up work
- Establish correct opening balances from the prior year for Remain SC members (Balance sheet Rebuild)
- Assist Onboarding Accountants in setting up the member’s payroll
- Handle historical payroll adjustments
- Manage mid-year transitions from the member's old payroll software to Gusto (Payroll Rebuild)
- Publish the first set of financial reports for our new members
- Produce Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
- Review the books for errors and collaborate with other accountants to address any discrepancies
- Communicate with clients via email to collect necessary documents and provide updates on the onboarding progress
- Provide assistance to Onboarding Bookkeepers and Onboarding accountants with questions and concerns
- Oversee and train new onboarding bookkeepers
- Contribute to refining onboarding processes and workflows, as well as developing accounting protocols
- Supervise the assignments of tasks to onboarding bookkeepers
Preferred Qualifications
- Be Gusto People Advisor Certified
- Be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
