Online Business Accounting Instructor

Summary

The Business Accounting Instructor will be responsible for teaching course as prescribed by the institutional curriculum, demonstrating and applying knowledge of the field, planning and organizing instruction to maximize student learning, modifying instructional methods to meet diverse students' needs, encouraging development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred, along with experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, QuickBooks certification, prior post-secondary teaching experience in the subject matter, and excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher in Accounting preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• QuickBooks certification
• Prior post-secondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years in subject matter
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and applies a thorough and accurate knowledge of the teaching field and discipline
• Plans and organizes instruction in ways which maximize student learning
• Practices excellence in teaching and instruction
• Modifies instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs
• Prepares lesson plans and teaches course as prescribed by the approved institutional curriculum
• Encourages the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments
