Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, graduating in Spring 2026 or a first year’s Master’s Student in Computer Science graduating in Spring 2026
  • Proficiency in Python and AWS networking or cloud service infrastructure understanding
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical modeling, data visualization, and utilizing analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, ThinkCell, and DataBricks
  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of articulating complex data insights to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and actionable understanding
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with attention to detail
  • Strong initiative and comfort with ambiguity, ready to lead projects

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive data collection systems to optimize statistical efficiency and ensure data quality
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and refine data analysis requirements
  • Utilize Tableau,ThinkCell, DataBricks, and similar tools to create dynamic visualizations and interactive reports from diverse data sources
  • Develop analytical frameworks that enhance data quality and accessibility, enabling more informed decision-making across the organization
  • Conduct detailed budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and engage in projects that support financial and operational planning
  • Generate actionable insights through meticulous data analysis, presenting findings to stakeholders and guiding strategic initiatives
  • Navigate the challenges of initiating projects without predefined roles and responsibilities, demonstrating a high degree of adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and their application in enhancing data analysis and decision-making processes
  • Knowledge of big data technologies, cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), and familiarity with data privacy standards
  • Positive mindset and willingness to seek challenges
  • Intellectual curiosity with an ability to learn quickly
  • Aptitude for driving results when given ambiguous information
