Summary
Join PDMI as an Operations Engineer and play a key role in ensuring seamless job execution across Linux and Windows environments. This fully remote position requires strong Linux skills for managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing processes. You will ensure timely execution of batch jobs and collaborate with other teams to enhance processes and automate tasks. PDMI offers a supportive culture, flexible schedules, and paid parental leave. The ideal candidate possesses 3+ years of IT operations experience with a focus on Linux, proficiency in shell scripting, and experience with automation tools. A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
Requirements
- 3+ years in IT operations or system administration, with a strong focus on Linux environments
- Proficiency in Linux command-line operations and shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic administrative tasks
- Experience with automation tools, job scheduling (Cron, Task Scheduler), and monitoring solutions
- Knowledge of version control (Git), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS ideal)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in real time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for collaboration and documentation
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Responsibilities
- Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot daily operational jobs in Linux and Windows environments
- Ensure the timely execution of batch jobs, scripts, and other scheduled processes
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and IT teams to enhance processes
- Focus on continuous improvement, automating repetitive tasks, and optimizing workflows
- Maintain documentation for operational processes and provide after-hours support as needed
