Oracle Database Administrator

Summary

Join our team as a remote Oracle DBA, located within the continental United States. You will be responsible for supporting Oracle databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. Key duties include providing analysis for resource management, escalating problems, implementing database changes, and ensuring optimal performance and high availability. You will collaborate with the team to allocate hardware resources and monitor system security. This role requires managing and storing information using database software, setting up database systems, and ensuring data backup, storage, and security. The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science, along with relevant experience and certifications.

Requirements

• Earn a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science
• Possess a sound knowledge of business functions
• Have the ability to interact with personnel in technical and non-technical positions
• 3 years DBA experience, including GoldenGate experience
• 5 years overall technical experience with software development, engineering, or sales
• Have an Industrial Engineering or Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience
• Possess knowledge of system and application design

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis to your team or service management to make informed decisions regarding resource management
• Escalate problems to the Oracle development team and third parties
• Maintain and improve databases, including upgrades and rollouts
• Implement and release database changes submitted by the development team
• Ensure performance and availability of the Oracle databases supporting the system
• Work with the team to ensure associated hardware resources are well-allocated to databases and promote optimum performance and high availability
• Monitor the system database to ensure services are secured with minimum downtime
• Utilize database software to manage and store information
• Set up database systems and ensure they run efficiently
• Ensure that stored data is regularly backed up, effectively stored, and secure from unauthorized access

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle DBS certification
• MCDBA (Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) certification
