Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of paralegal experience, particularly in personal injury law or insurance law
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools, CRM systems, and relevant software
  • Ability to evaluate complex information, draw insightful conclusions, and find effective solutions
  • Effective written and verbal communication, strong organizational abilities, and multitasking skills
  • Proactive approach to work, adaptability, and resilience in handling challenges

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research and gather evidence related to medical records, employment histories, and insurance policy wording to support claims advocates in building strong cases
  • Develop detailed and accurate timelines of events, treatments, and communications critical to each claim
  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording, including TPD (Total and Permanent Disability) and life insurance policies, to determine coverage, identify exclusions, and assess claims validity
  • Continuously update knowledge of local regulations and rules relating to superannuation, life insurance, and TPD insurance, ensuring compliance and accurate advice
  • Prepare comprehensive summaries and reports based on your research and analysis for claims advocates to use in client representation
  • Maintain well-organized digital and physical files to ensure easy access to all relevant documents
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills in all interactions, including responding to queries from clients and team members
  • Be a proactive team player within a small, high-paced team environment, working closely with colleagues to achieve collective goals
  • Actively source missing or additional information as required, directly contacting relevant parties when necessary
  • Assist the Case Manager with daily administration tasks related to claims, including responding to queries and managing documentation
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all data entered into the CRM system, regularly updating and maintaining records

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in handling TPD and life insurance claims is desirable
