Requirements
- Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program, Bachelorβs degree in a related field preferred
- 3-6 years of experience as a paralegal in transactional law, preferably within the payments, fintech, or related industries
- Strong understanding of contracts and experience in contract review and negotiation
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including service agreements, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other transactional documents
- Assist in maintaining the company's compliance with local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations related to payments and financial services
- Support corporate governance matters, including preparing documents for board meetings and maintaining corporate records
- Collaborate with and support the legal team in managing transactions from inception to closing, including due diligence activities
- Provide legal support and advice to various business units within the company
- Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the payments industry
- Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the company's operations comply with applicable legal and regulatory standards
