This role involves processing semi-monthly and monthly payrolls, ensuring data accuracy, preparing reports, and assisting with audits. You will also develop and manage payroll systems and processes. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be a key member of the accounting team, collaborating with HR and other business partners. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, emphasis in Accounting or Finance
- At least 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience in multiple states in a high volume and fast-paced environment
- Possess knowledge of payroll taxation concepts and terminology
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Solid knowledge and application of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX/Internal Controls
- Commitment to protect confidential information
- Have strong interpersonal skills and be customer service oriented, as well as experience fielding payroll-related questions from employees
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with employees of all levels of the company
- Develop strong relationships with business partners across the business, with an emphasis on the HR team
- Be energetic, highly organized and a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Be able to manage time-sensitive projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Have strong project and process management skills
Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 400 US employees (and growing), across multiple states
- Process monthly payroll for approximately 100 employees across 13 countries
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Enter new hires, process promotions, raises, bonuses, terminations, and all aspects of the employee life cycle
- Register for new tax jurisdictions as we hire employees in new locations
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests from employees
- Prepare monthly journal entries and assist with year-end audits on an as-needed basis
- Audit various HR connections to the payroll system for accuracy
- Perform other accounting/finance duties and projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience processing International payrolls
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., knowledge of VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, IF statements)
- Previous experience with Papaya and Workday
- Be comfortable working with software tools and learning a variety of new systems
