As a Pension plan implementation consultant, you will perform crucial actuarial work remotely, with occasional in-person meetings. The role involves supervising a team, leading client meetings, and ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations. You will contribute to system configuration, testing, and process improvement, working collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or actuarial mathematics
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of pension plans in Canada and the laws governing them
- Be able to analyze complex information related to pension plans
- Good communication skills in French and and strong communication skills in English (the majority of the work will be done in English)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of junior business analysts in their daily activities
- Lead client meetings on benefit calculation requirements
- Review pension plan provisions and ensure compliance of the various types of calculations with applicable Canadian rules and legislation
- Participate in the configuration of our partner's pension plan administration system based on the specific features of the client's pension plan
- Review documentation related to parameter configuration
- Support system developers in configuring new features
- Ensure the development of the test strategy related to benefit calculations, review the identified test scenarios and the regression testing and the results of the various tests
- Contribute to the improvement of calculation tools and internal procedures
- Participate in organizational projects when pension plan administration expertise is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Excel or SQL programming language
- Proficiency in computer tools, including process modeling tools and tracking systems
- Strong sense of organization and resourcefulness
- Be able to work in a team with the various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability in effective time management, including meeting deadlines and prioritizing various tasks and deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills when communicating with clients, managers and senior management
- Excellent analytical skills and
- Place great importance on details, demonstrating precision and rigor
