Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (preference for studies in Architecture and Business)
- 10+ years of architecture experience across multiple market sectors
- 10+ years of experience leading teams and managing internal initiatives
- Deep expertise in computational design, including tool-building, data visualization, interactive dashboards, and experience integrating AI into workflows for image and text generation
- Extensive experience presenting to clients, industry conferences, and internal leadership
- Strategic and analytical thinking to tackle complex challenges
Responsibilities
- Translate research into practice by leveraging insights from neuroscience, wellness, and human performance research into actionable and engaging narratives that resonate with clients
- Infuse Living-Centered Design principles by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to co-create purposeful, user-centered solutions that enhance the experience of interior and exterior spaces
- Develop analytical tools and computational techniques to quantify and visualize the human aspects of space, including stress reduction, productivity, and social connection
- Develop client-facing intuitive physical and digital tools (compelling dashboards, beautiful reports, and data driven visuals) that clarify how physical space impacts human performance and business goals, βwowβ clients, and build trust
- Foster digital fluency by increasing the adoption of digital tools and techniques both internally and with clients, including bespoke tools as well as products like Tableau, PowerBI, R and R Shiny, Rhino, Grasshopper, and the full suite of Microsoft, Adobe, and Esri apps
- Identify, source, and position for strategic consulting opportunities that leverage Blue Cottage and CannonDesign services in any market, to innovate and bring value and benefit our clients, in any industry that is interested in focusing on people and performance
- Identify, establish and nurture meaningful, long-term relationships with clients and internal partners through excellence, integrity, and reliability and in a way that grows the consulting practice and elevates the brand, while making measurable, living-centered impact
- Elevate the firm as a leader in human performance design through thought leadership content, conference presentations, and case studies, balanced with delivering project work
- Build on our living-centered design mindset and capabilities as a firm, allowing our approach to problem solving to be deeply embedded in human-centered strategies that reflect community impact, social impact, operational needs and financial parameters
- Support business development efforts as a key member of pursuit teams providing direction, leadership, and engaging collateral, and secure a minimum of $250k of Blue Cottage net signed fee per year for the People Analytics & Performance Consulting practice and contribute to integrated project work that you assist by pre-positioning, participating in pursuits, interviews, etc
- Contribute to 10% Year-over-Year growth of Blue Cottage (grow the business, grow the team)
- Achieve minimum 15% profitability on projects you lead or in which you participate
- Achieve a balance of marketing, business development, team development and thought leadership, while hitting a billable utilization target of 65% or more (or generating equivalent value in new business and projects)
- Embrace and model living centered design ethos and competencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterβs degree preferred
- Additional credential preferred, including Registered Architect, WELL Accredited Professional
