Join The Apothecarium as a Cannabis Dispensary Pharmacist and play a key role in providing safe and compliant medical cannabis dispensing to patients. You will be responsible for conducting patient consultations, educating patients on cannabis therapies, verifying physician certifications, and maintaining accurate patient records. This position requires ensuring compliance with Pennsylvaniaβs Medical Marijuana Program regulations and collaborating with dispensary staff. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist license, a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, and 1+ years of pharmacy experience. Excellent communication and patient education skills are essential. The Apothecarium offers a competitive hourly rate of $58-$60.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist license, in good standing
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- 1+ years experience working in a pharmacy setting assisting patients/customers
- Satisfactory completion of any State-required Medical Cannabis education programs
- Ability to learn and understand cannabinoids and how they interact with the human body
- Ability to work effectively with employees, management, patients, governmental agencies, community members, and the general public
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes, and organizational rules, regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures
- Extensive knowledge of cannabis pharmacology and its therapeutic applications, or willingness to acquire this expertise
- Excellent communication, patient education skills, and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and leadership skills
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one patient consultations to provide education on medical cannabis, discuss consumption methods, and recommend appropriate treatments based on physician certifications
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, documenting consultations, recommendations, and any relevant information while adhering to privacy and data protection regulations
- Ensure strict compliance with Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana laws and dispensary regulations, including maintaining accurate records, verifying patient certifications, and managing the Prescription Monitoring Program
- Dispense medical cannabis products according to physician recommendations and patient needs, ensuring proper use and dosage
- Stay updated on the latest research in cannabis pharmacology, contributing to patient care with evidence-based recommendations and industry developments
- Collaborate with the Dispensary General Managers and other team members to ensure smooth operations and achieve key performance metrics
