Summary

Join Oscar Medical Group's Virtual Health Assessment team as a Physician! This part-time, remote role offers flexible 4-8 hour shifts, working from home in select states. You will perform preventative care, diagnose conditions, provide health coaching, and outreach to members. Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The hourly pay is competitive, and limited benefits including paid time off are offered. This position requires board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, an MD or DO, and relevant experience. Additional qualifications such as telemedicine experience and fluency in Spanish are preferred.

Requirements

  • Board-certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Must be licensed in TN and at least one of the following: MO, GA, PA, MS, AL
  • 3+ years experience in an outpatient family or internal medicine practice
  • Strong understanding of risk adjustment methodologies, including HCC coding principles
  • Familiarity with HEDIS measures, including their role in quality improvement and performance measurement

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative care screenings, complete medication reconciliation, diagnose medical conditions and provide health coaching, referrals and treatment when clinically appropriate
  • Outreach members who are more chronically ill based on historical and suspected health information
  • Engage members who have a lower probability of seeing their PCP
  • Identify areas in the member's medical journey that can be improved by increasing their access to care with a licensed provider
  • Cross-train into urgent care and/or virtual primary care service line
  • Interact with members virtually, including virtual assessment, diagnosis and treatment
  • Provide direct oversight and supervision of nurse practitioners and physician assistants within state by state regulations
  • Collaborate with MAs, RNs, and other providers across service lines
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Telemedicine experience
  • IMLCC compact Physician license or eligible to apply
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience supervising Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA)
