Planning Engineer

Summary

Join Brightspeed's dynamic team as a Network Core Planning Engineer and play a critical role in managing and optimizing the performance of our Transport and Data networks. You will monitor network elements, design new network builds, submit costing and approval requests, evaluate capacity utilization, and forecast bandwidth requirements. This position requires managing network elements for optimal performance, continuously monitoring network capacity, forecasting bandwidth growth, developing capacity augmentation plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate costing, and designing new network projects. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 6+ years of experience (or 4+ years with a Master's degree). • 6+ years of related experience

Responsibilities

• Manage network elements for both Transport and data networks, ensuring optimal performance
• Continuously monitor and evaluate network capacity utilization to maintain a high level of service quality
• Forecast and trend bandwidth growth, proactively identifying potential capacity issues
• Develop and implement plans to augment capacity relief as needed to meet network demands
• Work closely with engineers and other cross-functional teams to optimize network resources and ensure capacity planning aligns with future growth
• Ensure accurate costing of facilities across multiple quoting systems
• Develop plans and designs for new projects, and modification of Core equipment and devices

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of related experience with a Master's Degree
