Summary
Join Tint's Platform Engineering team and build solid foundations to enhance engineering velocity and developer experience. Identify and solve team pain points, implementing solutions from start to finish. Advocate for code quality and security, maintaining consistent architecture across the platform. Review pull requests, analyze platform performance, and prioritize features based on effort and impact. Mentor other engineers through code reviews and peer programming. This role requires over 5 years of software engineering experience and expertise in various technologies, including Node, React, TypeScript, SQL, Docker, Terraform, and AWS. The ideal candidate is located in the US, comfortable with a fast-paced startup environment, and able to travel every 8-12 weeks. Requirements
- You have over 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer
- You are located in the US, do not require visa sponsorship, and are comfortable with and able to travel every ~8 to 12 weeks
- Your written and spoken English is excellent
Responsibilities
- Advocate for and promote Engineering best practices and culture within the company
- Take a hands-on approach to drive platform-wide technical refactoring
- Improve existing infrastructure and contribute to new & existing build tools
- Leverage experience in third-party integrations (e.g., Stripe, Stytch) to enable product engineering teams in delivering new features
- Lead by example, writing code as a standard of excellence, for clarity and testability
- Be part of our on-call team to address production incidents
- Lead technical design and planning for platform-wide initiatives
- Establish and own up-to-date documentation about our technical tooling
- Proactively propose improvements to enhance Software Engineering efficiency and platform reliability
- Mentor other Engineers to ensure high standards of quality and security
- Analyze other Engineers pain points and implement effective solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in Node, React, TypeScript, SQL, Docker, Terraform, and AWS infrastructure is strongly preferred
- You are comfortable with an AI-assisted workflow leveraging tools like Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, Warp, and other AI tooling
- You are an expert in design patterns and have extensive experience implementing them
- You consistently advocate for security and development best practices
- You are hands-on and capable of handling platform-wide technical refactoring in a timely manner
- You possess sharp analytical skills to identify Software Engineers' pain points and devise pragmatic solutions
- You have strong documentation skills to create and maintain internal technical knowledge
- You love contributing to the community through blog posts or open-source projects
- You thrive on projects containing a lot of ambiguity
- You are comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment with fast-changing priorities
