Summary
Join JUMO as a Portfolio Analyst and become an integral part of the team responsible for the company's financial performance. You will analyze portfolios, identify risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to optimize performance. Your responsibilities include monitoring portfolios, suggesting remedial actions, managing microcredit assets, building BI reports, and executing the strategic vision. You will collaborate with stakeholders, analyze portfolio strategy scenarios, and ensure effective communication and reporting. This role requires a university degree in a relevant field and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will also possess experience in financial services and proficiency in Excel and data analytics.
Requirements
- University degree in either Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Risk Management, or equivalent
- University graduate in the above fields with a keen willingness to learn OR a maximum 2 yearsβ Analytical / Commercial experience within financial services β Consumer lending, Banking, Asset management or Fund management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Understanding of financial metrics in relation to portfolio management and the associated forecasting thereof
- Strong financial product understanding
- Understanding of the credit lifecycle
- Proficiency in Excel, data analytics
- Ability in presenting / communicating recommendations
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to drive innovation through testing, exploration, and creative problem solving in a fast paced, constantly changing product environment
- Appetite to learn and be challenged
Responsibilities
- Analyze portfolios to identify pockets of risk or opportunity and develop proactive strategies that assist in optimizing predictable portfolio performance
- Monitor, analyze, and suggest remedial action on portfolios, through careful consideration of internal and external factors which may cause portfolio performance shifts
- Assist in managing microcredit assets across geographies, risk segments and product classes
- Build BI reports to assist in speeding up portfolio strategy development
- Execute on the strategic vision of the business across various credit product offerings
- Build code repositories and assist in documentation of learnings
- Establish strong working relationships with peers and stakeholders to address cross-functional processes and influence changes outside of the team
- Understand and analyse the trade-offs when pursuing various portfolio strategy scenarios, and provide recommendations based on the best way forward
- Ensure adequate communication, reporting, tracking and monitoring of portfolio performance
- Be responsible for growth, performance, and optimization of financial products in pursuit of maximizing eligibility and reach across our markets
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in SQL
- Experience with BI reporting software such as SuperSet, Power BI, Tableau etc
- Completed / In the process of completing a CA / CFA / CAIA certification or equivalent
- Knowledge and application of credit scoring and risk management techniques across the entire credit life cycle on consumer portfolios
- Experience in a data rich, dynamic and constantly changing environment
