Post Automation Manager

Summary

Join NBCUniversal as the Manager of Post Automation and lead a team of engineers and developers in growing and supporting the NBCU Post-Production automation platform. You will oversee development, code management, and data reporting for the tools, collaborating with the Post Workflow team to ensure client requests are met. This fully remote position requires managing assignments, setting deadlines, and engaging with third-party vendors. The role demands experience in various technologies and a background in agile/scrum environments. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of managerial experience as a Manager or Technical Lead
• Experience with understanding third-party and internal REST APIs
• Experience in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell
• Experience in Linux, Windows, Node, React, Python, and Ansible
• Experience in Development QA/QC Processes
• Background with some form of source control management (SCM), preferably git
• Experience in third-party post-production automation tools, such as Telestream Vantage
• Understanding of video archive solutions, such as Telestream Diva
• Familiarity with the software build process
• Experience with asset management systems (Production Asset Management and Media Asset Management)
• Experience working in an agile/scrum environment
• Some weekend and off-hours work is required to handle regular upgrades and technical escalations

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of developers and engineers
• Manage code, including CI/CD
• Handle development QA/QC
• Manage data and reporting
• Develop applications
• Manage team assignments based on timelines and skills
• Assign proper deadlines for each assignment
• Set accurate expectations for senior management on delivery timelines
• Engage with third-party vendors regarding integration via automation
• Oversee L3 support for the automation platform
• Oversee L3 support for the internal Media Asset Management (MAM) platform

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of cloud automation tools, using both Microsoft Azure and AWS
• Experience in Post Production Engineering, preferably involved in automation
• Experience in post-production tools such as Avid Media Composer and the Adobe Suite, including content import and export
• Experience in file acceleration solutions such as Signiant using automation to orchestrate job submissions
• Strong interpersonal skills and adept at building relationships with all technical and operational areas across NBCU
