Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in power scheduling, with a focus on renewable energy assets
  • 3+ years of experience in managing power scheduling or real-time power trading teams
  • Strong understanding of ERCOT and CAISO market structures, rules, and regulations
  • Hands-on experience with PV and BESS scheduling and dispatch
  • Proficiency in power scheduling software and tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule

Responsibilities

  • Manage a growing team of highly skilled and motivated schedulers
  • Manage the day-to-day scheduling and dispatch of PV and BESS assets in the ERCOT and CAISO markets
  • Develop and implement power scheduling strategies to optimize asset performance and revenue generation
  • Monitor and analyze real-time market conditions, grid operations, and weather forecasts to make informed scheduling decisions
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable ERCOT and CAISO market rules and regulations
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including traders, plant operators, and transmission providers
  • Develop and maintain scheduling models, protocols and tools to support decision-making
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency and effectiveness
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in power scheduling and renewable energy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with energy storage optimization
  • Knowledge of forecasting and risk management techniques
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools
