Summary
Join Datacom as a Practice Lead β AIOps and lead a team of engineers in installing, managing, and maintaining operating systems and applications focused on AIOps capabilities. Requirements
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems and enterprise applications
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages for system management (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
- Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory requirements related to system and application management
- Ability to guide, mentor, and support a team of engineers in best practices and problem-solving
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners
- Commitment to optimising processes, adopting new technologies, and driving efficiency
- Bachelorsβ degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in systems and applications engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role
- Experience with enterprise operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and applications (e.g., databases, middleware, cloud services)
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and automation tools
Responsibilities
- Mentor, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and tools to succeed
- Allocate resources effectively to meet business requirements and project deadlines
- Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the team
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support when needed
- Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of operating systems and applications
- Ensure system and application reliability, security, and performance in alignment with business needs
- Manage software upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and application issues
- Develop and enforce engineering best practices, including automation, documentation, and security protocols
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system and application management
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and business units, to align engineering practices with organizational objectives
- Act as a key point of contact for escalations and critical incidents
- Provide reports and insights on system performance, risks, and improvements to senior leadership
- Ensure all systems and applications adhere to security policies, compliance regulations, and industry standards
- Work with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks and implement proactive security measures
- Support audit and compliance activities as required
