Summary

Join Tidal Basin as a Practice Leader for its national Grants and Program Management practice. This expert will enhance existing business, elevate service and revenue, and attract new clients. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a market strategy, providing guidance on projects, growing the GPM practice, supporting project delivery, identifying new staff, driving innovation, and building client relationships. The ideal candidate possesses deep understanding of project management and consulting, extensive experience in GPM work, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities. A Bachelor's degree, 15 years of relevant experience, and specific licensure and certifications are required. Travel is estimated at 50% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Planning, Engineering/Architecture, Environmental, Finance or related degree
  • 15 years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience delivering FGM and Housing-related projects and programs at the Federal, State, Local, Tribal or Territorial Levels
  • Licensure in Field of Study (i.e. CEM, AICP, PE, AIA, CPA)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience leading diverse technical and geographic teams

Responsibilities

  • Support the State, Local and Commercial (SLC) division leadership in providing high quality, timely, and profitable delivery of the Grants and Program Management (GPM) support project portfolio
  • Develop, influence and implement a GPM market strategy, utilizing Tidal Basin’s national teams and capabilities
  • Support the SLC leadership by providing recommendations and guidance on a portfolio of projects or programs of significant size, complexity, and significant financial impact
  • Help grow the GPM planning, design, grants management, and consulting practice
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the SLC leadership to share resources, augment capabilities, and bring the best of Tidal Basin to each and every project
  • Support the breadth of Tidal Basin’s GPM related projects by providing expertise and guidance
  • Support the SLC leadership in identifying new staff for hiring and cross-train existing staff to deliver GPM projects, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, leadership, and ownership within the organization
  • Participate in and help drive innovative workstreams to differentiate Tidal Basin and address market changes, challenges, and opportunities
  • Support production of winning proposals (both technical and cost)
  • Prepare and lead client presentations and interviews
  • Support the refinement of existing delivery strategies to improve predictability, quality, and efficiency
  • Build relationships with senior leaders at Federal, State, Local, Territorial, Tribal and commercial entities alongside company leadership
  • Attract and secure new GPM clients and build the opportunity pipeline alongside SLC leadership
  • Travel as-needed to support project, client, and team needs (estimate 50% of time)
  • Provide thought leadership ideas internally and externally
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and mentor for GPM projects across the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Deep understanding of project management and consulting service model
  • Deep experience in all facets of GPM related work including but not limited to housing, as well as federal grant and reimbursement programs from HUD, FEMA and others
  • Experience working to deploy solutions to support clients in project and program management in one of the Tidal Basin Service Lines (Public Assistance, Response, Preparedness, GPM/Housing/HUD, Financial and Program Management, Mitigation)
  • Provide strong, dynamic leadership that mentors, develops, and guides team members, staff, and client relationships
  • Excellent oral, written, organizational, and time management skills, with ability to multi-task and work with minimal or no supervision
  • Experience working with federal grant-funded programs
  • Excellent client relations and an understanding of local, state, and federal government
