Pricing Lead

Summary

Join Wakam as their Pricing Lead – UK and spearhead their UK pricing strategy, reporting directly to the Chief Underwriting Officer. You will design and implement data-driven pricing models to ensure profitability and innovation within the Motor and Home insurance portfolios. Key responsibilities include leading pricing strategies for profitable growth, monitoring pricing performance and profitability KPIs, building and improving technical pricing models using actuarial and statistical methods, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a strong academic background in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field, along with solid experience in retail insurance pricing, particularly for Motor and Home insurance. A deep understanding of the UK insurance market, regulations, and pricing trends is essential, as is proficiency in pricing tools and programming languages. Requirements

• A strong academic background — degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar
• Solid experience in retail insurance pricing, ideally for Motor and Home insurance products
• In-depth understanding of the UK insurance market, regulations, and pricing trends
• Proficiency in pricing tools such as EMBLEM, AKUR8, and programming languages like Python or R
• Strong data interpretation skills, stakeholder communication, and business acumen

Responsibilities

• Lead and refine pricing strategies to achieve profitable growth while adapting to market dynamics
• Monitor pricing performance, analyze profitability KPIs, and recommend improvements to optimize margins
• Build and enhance technical pricing models using actuarial and statistical methodologies
• Act as a key partner to internal teams, MGAs, reinsurers, and compliance stakeholders to ensure pricing is aligned with strategic and regulatory goals
• Lead junior team members and bring forward-thinking ideas to modernize pricing tools and methodologies
