Requirements
- A bachelorโs degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering field is required
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal role managing data center projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design software
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical power distribution, and plumbing systems required
- Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design engineering team in the conceptualization, design, and implementation of data center projects, ensuring all systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards
- Provide technical leadership in the design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, ensuring integration with architectural and structural elements
- Drive innovation in data center design, incorporating the latest technologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and sustainability
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
- Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations
- Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are managed
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, as-built drawings, and operation manuals
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team
- Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization
- Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterโs degree is preferred
- LEED accreditation and other relevant certifications are a plus
