Principal Engineer

Summary

The job description is for a Principal Engineer position at Printify. The role involves shaping the architecture of the Printify Print On Demand platform and working with various technologies such as PHP, TypeScript, Angular, etc. The candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in relevant roles and excellent problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of proven experience in roles like Principal Engineer, Lead Developer or Software Architect
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Solid understanding of software fundamentals (Data Structures, Software Architecture, Design Patterns, Distributed Systems)
• Understanding of Microservices architecture and Domain Driven Design principles
• Experience with AWS
• Excellent written & spoken communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for architecture and technical decisions made in assigned teams
• Review and help teams prepare architectural and design documentation
• Guide development teams through implementation by providing POC’s, explaining design details, and solving design issues
• Investigate and solve a variety of architecture-related problems such as performance, scalability, integration, and other
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
• Working closely with fellow architects and engineers in order to create cohesive architecture practices and guardrails, whilst driving the adoption of these practices/standards across the teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Expert-level PHP knowledge
• Experience with MongoDB
• Understanding of front-end technologies
