Requirements

  • Cloud Solutions Architect Certified with emphasis on Data / Data Analytics / Data Engineer on AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with building solutions on AWS or equivalent public cloud platforms
  • Solid understanding of requirements for HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS, and related regulatory frameworks
  • At least 10 years of experience working collaboratively with data-related teams such as data governance, data engineering, data science & analytics, software teams dealing primarily with data, DataOps, data infrastructure, or similar
  • Experience participating in the integration & operation of multiple data governance tools such as data catalogs, access controls, MDM, provenance, and observability
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, relationship building skills, and the ability to influence others through persuasion
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, other quantitative field
  • At least 10 years of prior experience as an individual contributor in data-related roles such as data engineer, data architect, data scientist/analyst, DataOps, or similar
  • Experience of data storage architectures such as relational & NoSQL databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses
  • Experience & strong understanding of data flow architectures including microservices & APIs, ETL/ELT, streaming, messaging, etc
  • Experience with not only architecture and designing data systems, but demonstrated experience in building services as well as resilient service delivery

Responsibilities

  • Define organization wide strategic technical roadmaps surrounding enterprise data
  • Lead with our partners to build & integrate technologies for Data Governance and other aspects of data management
  • Directly influence the organization technical direction based on business data needs
  • Responsible for making sound technical decisions that have broad impact on organizational data
  • Create/Manage diagrams and other supporting artifacts as a blueprint or framework that defines how data is stored, organized, integrated, and accessed across the organization to better support the business evolving data needs
  • Mentor and support team from a technical and strategic leadership perspective across Workstreams, technologies, and frameworks
  • Lead best-practices establishment of data policies and standards to align with business objectives and technological capabilities
  • Plan, prioritize, and deliver annual organization wide initiatives
  • Responsible for vendor supported Data Governance products and aligning the product capabilities with the organizational needs
  • Design and develop data models that define how data will be stored, processed, and accessed (conceptual, logical, and physical)
  • Ensure data from various systems can be combined/integrated and used seamlessly
  • Responsible for data security frameworks that align with regulatory compliances like HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS
  • Optimize performance of our data systems to ensure that data can be accessed and processed efficiently
  • Guide partners on data migration needs encompassing crafting the plan and overseeing the transition process
  • Contribute to positive vendor relationships for tools & technologies that achieve federated governance, quality, and observability across multiple domains
  • Tightly and efficiently collaborate with partners across the entire organization in alignment with our business objectives
  • Conduct continuing industry research and identify best practices to incorporate into the Data Governance program
  • Take responsibility for personal development by seeking training, on-the-job experiences, and input from supervisor and peers
  • Maintain sharp professional knowledge, and stay abreast of new tools and developments in data management, regulatory frameworks, and data technologies
