Summary

Join PingCAP as a Principal Product Manager to shape and execute the roadmap for improving the operational efficiency of their TiDB Database across various environments. Collaborate with engineering, field, and customer success teams to drive innovative solutions that enhance deployment workflows and optimize system management.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with a focus on infrastructure, cloud services, or enterprise software, including a track record of driving strategic product improvements
  • Proven experience in gathering and integrating customer feedback into long-term product roadmaps, with an emphasis on operational innovation
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms, and a deep understanding of the operational concerns of enterprise customers managing mission-critical systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Proven track record of driving product innovation, delivering customer value, and achieving business results

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a long-term product roadmap that strategically improves the deployment, upgrades, and operational management of the database across on-premises and cloud environments
  • Engage with customers to deeply understand their operational challenges and long-term needs. Use these insights to drive innovative solutions that enhance deployment workflows, minimize disruptions, and optimize system management
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation and release of operational improvements, adhering to quality standards and delivery timelines
  • Establish best practices, playbooks, and guidelines for customers to effectively operate TiDB effectively and efficiently

Benefits

$160,000 - $230,000 a year base salary (U.S. candidates), eligible for PingCAP's Bonus and Equity Plan, Sales Compensation Plan (if it is a sales role), health insurance, flexible vacation time, paid holidays, and parental leave
