Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (PM certification)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a Project Manager or similar role
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and best practice tools - including Smartsheet
  • Experience in People Operations / Human Resources, ideally operating at the leadership level managing projects across functions, geographies and timezones and liaising with leaders across the business
  • Strong understanding of the business, financials and key value creation initiatives and company priorities
  • Experience completing projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline with leading change management activities
  • Comfortable working with executives and leaders of multiple functions, company wide and leading org-wide projects as well as key HR projects that impact large parts of the business
  • A track record of driving alignment through education and creating awareness across the People function, representing the CPO and PLT and breaking down silos within the function
  • 3+ years of experience in crafting communications to inform and ensure alignment within the function and in helping drive consistent and coordinated messaging from the People org to the business
  • Worked with other PMs within the People org and across the organization in other functions and./or any centralized PM function to drive key value creation and transformation initiative

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and drive the design, development, documentation, and execution of key company and functional projects to timely completion, representing the people aspects for each project and initiative
  • Establish relationships and collaborate with partners to understand their needs and business goals and to share information to help ensure better awareness and alignment against the overall Company and People goals, representing the CPO / People org
  • Utilize gathered information to prioritize requests, build requirements, find and assign resources, and track projects through to completion
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and scope changes
  • Lead project-related team meetings, including kick-offs, requirements gathering, status updates, and internal/business reviews. Clearly communicate actions and next steps to ensure alignment and progress
  • Anticipate and advise on project risks, and lead the development and implementation of mitigation strategies
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies to achieve operational goals
  • Promote understanding across partners around project status, spend, priorities, and resource allocation
  • Guide decision-making processes with business partners to achieve project objectives
  • Iterate and scale systems and projects to meet Smartsheet's global needs
  • Conduct post-project retrospectives to capture learnings and implement improvements for future initiatives
  • Manage team capacity by understanding the current state of the project pipeline and making data-driven trade-offs
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as legal, compliance, payroll and product to align work with proposed schedules and long-term security strategies
