Summary

Join Toast as a Quantitative Researcher and help shape product-led growth strategies for our Guest space, including Consumer, Digital Storefront, and Marketing Suite products. You will leverage quantitative methods to address customer challenges, integrate data from multiple sources, and analyze large datasets to uncover actionable insights. Collaborate with stakeholders across product and design to drive growth, engagement, and retention. Present research findings to inspire data-driven decisions. This role requires advanced analytical and modeling skills, proficiency in SQL and Python, and 7-10 years of experience in a relevant quantitative field. Requirements

  • Experience delivering impactful quant research to executive stakeholders…instilling complex insights into clear actionable next steps
  • Data-driven mindset with advanced analytical and modeling skills, eager to dive into data to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic discussions
  • Proficiency in advanced quantitative methods, including statistical analysis, linear/logistic regression(?), and hypothesis testing
  • Experience with data visualization. Can confidently choose the best visualization style for the given context; the insights from your visualizations speak for themselves
  • Proficient in SQL and Python
  • Background building interactive dashboards in tools such as Hex, Sigma, Tableau, etc
  • 7-10 years experience in UX Research, and/or equivalent experience in an advanced quantitative field such as human factors, mathematics, economics/finance, statistics, etc
  • Ability to work core EST hours to collaborate with team members

Responsibilities

  • Leverage a variety of research approaches, with an emphasis on quantitative methods, to address complex customer challenges and uncover opportunities to enhance the restaurant industry
  • Integrate data from multiple sources to uncover actionable trends and patterns that improve the customer journey
  • Analyze large datasets using methods like regression analysis, mixed-effects models, and other advanced techniques to uncover critical insights and opportunities
  • Contribute to company-wide projects, such as customer journey mapping, providing a quantitative perspective to drive impactful outcomes
  • Advocate for customer priorities throughout the design and product development process, ensuring solutions align with both customer expectations and business objectives
  • Build on existing data and insights to deliver high-quality, timely research that aligns with strategic goals and supports cross-functional initiatives
  • Present research findings in a clear and compelling way, engaging with stakeholders to inspire data-driven decisions that shape product innovation and customer success

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry, with a deep understanding of industry-specific data trends and challenges
  • Background in B2B SaaS research
